Education

Families

Looking at art inspires, surprises and raises questions It encourages young people to think creatively and critically. Museum JAN believes that art education is an integral part of its cultural and social responsibility. All educational activities are categorised under the umbrella name ‘JAN JUNIOR’.

The constantly changing temporary exhibitions of contemporary artists and designers provide an excellent basis for our art education projects. A team of staff members with knowledge of (glass) art and extensive experience in education is responsible for the development, organisation and supervision of the workshops in which children get to create their own art.

Please check our calendar for the latest workshops and other activities. Do you have any questions about our offer or are you interested in a custom-made programme? Please send an email to educatie@museumjan.nl

Atelier JAN JUNIOR

Museum JAN has two educational studios in the characteristic school building next to the museum and on the first floor of the museum. During the workshops, children will be able to clay, craft, hammer, draw and paint there to their heart's content. In line with the theme of the exhibition, Museum JAN offers workshops ranging from making video art to designing magical masks.

Treasure hunt

Specially for our own museum collection, a children's treasure hunt is developed, during which children can independently (possibly accompanied by their parents or others) look at the works of art and search for the correct answers. Observing and interpreting will be a golden combination. Please ask our staff members at the reception desk. It's free. And...every child is a winner!

 JAN JUNIOR

To introduce children to art online, a museum instructor will lead them past the imaginative objects in the permanent collection and temporary exhibitions. The JAN JUNIOR videos involves creative out-of-the-box thinking and creating. A perfect activity to be carried out at home or in the classroom.
