Children's workshop Fashion à la Paris – Creating a fashion illustration

High heels, handbags, sunglasses, bows and hats: these are all part of the fashion illustrations of Piet Paris. You can read all about it in the book Mode ABC, van All Star tot zonneklep (Fashion ABC, from All Star to sunvisor) by Natasja Admiraal. Especially for this workshop Natasja will read from her book so that you can learn everything about fashion. For example, are high heels only for women? Do you happen to know what a ‘queue de Paris’ is? Then you will get creative yourself: you can have fun with colours, lines and surfaces and create your own fashion illustration in the style of Piet Paris.

About Natasja Admiraal

Natasja Admiraal is a fashion journalist and writer. She interviewed fashion illustrator Piet Paris twice about his work. Natasja's first children's book was published in 2021: ‘Mode ABC, van All Star tot zonneklep’ (in Dutch), with illustrations by Jelle Post. This joyful fashion book tells the stories behind extraordinary - or just plain ordinary - pieces of clothing and accessories. ‘Mode ABC’ will be available in the museum shop of Museum JAN.

Fun fact: the reading and workshop takes place in the exhibition surrounded with fashion pieces, amazing right?!

For children aged 8 to 13

Children’s participation is free, parents/companions pay the regular entrance fee. The Museumkaart is valid. Please register.

The book Mode ABC is written by Natasja Admiraal and is available at the museumshop.
