From 1 February to 3 March 2019, Museum Jan van der Togt will devote an exhibition to the latest work by Anneke Schat (1942) inspired by feature films. She has translated fragments that have remained with her since her childhood into jewelry in a free and personal way.
With each design, Schat was confronted with the challenge of giving a memory a spatial shape. Homages to the films of her youth. In addition to jewelry, the exhibition also shows work on paper.
Schat has been active as a goldsmith's artist for over 50 years. From the very beginning she has developed her own visual language through experimental design, so that her work from the different periods is clearly recognizable. She is widely known, partly for decades by designing and implementing the Golden Televizier Ring, the most important television prize in the Netherlands. Treasure is constantly looking for innovation in her designs. In addition, she never loses sight of the ergonomic and spatial aspect of goldsmithing.
