Photo competition - the art of the everyday

Do you see the beauty in the everyday? Then enter the photo competition inspired by photographer Lonneke van der Palen. She gives new meaning to everyday objects such as an unripe pepper, a bottle of sun cream or a jerry can of windscreen fluid. Which object will be the focus of your attention? Send us your best photo!

Enter the competition for children (up to 16 years old) or adults:

  1. Send your photo as a JPEG (min. 2 MB) to educatie@museumjan.nl. Include the title, your name and age. Deadline 25 August.

  2. The museum jury will choose three works per age category. These photos will be exhibited in the museum!

  3. From 3 until 22 September, the museum public can vote for their favourite. The winners will be announced on 26 September.

 

Conditions for participation

  1. Maximum number: Please submit a maximum of 3 photos

  2. File format and size: Photos must be between 2 MB and 10 MB in size and submitted in JPEG format.

  3. Submission: send to educatie@museumjan.nl mentioning. 'Photo competition'. Please include the title of your photo, your name and age.

  4. Own photography: The submitted photo must be taken by you personally. 

  5. Deadline: Only entries received by 25 August will be judged. Submissions after this date will not be taken into consideration.

  6. Use for online promotion: Photos may be shared via social media and the newsletter to promote the photo competition.

  7. Attribution: If your photo is used, your name will be mentioned.

  8. Judging: A museum jury will select three works from the children's competition and three from the adults. These works will be exhibited in the museum until 22 September. The public can vote only at the museum; online votes will not be considered.

  9. Age: Children up to 16 years old automatically take part in the children's competition. From 17 years onwards, your entry will be counted among the adults.
